What to visit in Lanzarote: Jameos Del Agu

Jameos Del Agua, a cave complex that resulted from volcanic activity now includes a natural concert hall, a subterranean lagoon, a restaurant and museum. It is located 27 kilometres north of the capital, Arrecife. One of caves is 62 metres long and 21 metres high. Here you can find everything from courtyards to subterranean auditoria.The salt-water lagoon is home to a unique species of small crabs.

But remember that public transport is good and that it is often significantly cheaper. Furthermore, Lanzarote is well-known for keeping hire car prices low. Normally, you hire the car with a full tank and return it full.

What to see in Lanzarote: places of interest

Lanzarote offers great places to visit, here a short review:
Castillo de San Gabriel
It was originally built in the 16th century to defend Arrecife Harbor.Destroyed by pirates, it was later rebuilt and used until recent history for defense. The fortress is now home to an archaeological museum.
Castillo de San Jose
It was constructed in 1799 to defend against pirate attacks. It has now been converted into a Modern Art Gallery and Restaurant.
Aquapark
It is located in Costa Teguise offers a multitude of aquatic rides. The park has something for every member of the family to enjoy under the sun.  Admission charges are in local currency (euros).  When going ashore, guests are advised to take with them only the items they need and to secure any valuables.

Lanzarote is in the list of the 10 top ten surfing areas:

Number 3. Lanzarote – Both the west and east coasts of this Canary Island offer surfers great waves and surfing resorts.

Number 4. Fuerteventura – Not to be outdone by its northern neighbor, Lanzarote, this second largest of the Canary Islands, has surfing to suit every level and more than 150 beaches along its coast.
